A man in Vermont was arrested after swinging an excavator at state police who were attempting to take his son.
Wayne Tallman had no intention of turning over his 24-year-old son, Brandon, to state troopers when they arrived at his residence to bring the young man in on charges relating to an assault and burglary case, according to a report.
When the troopers attempted to put his son in handcuffs, Tallman jumped into a nearby excavator and took the controls.

As troopers wrestled with his son on the property’s driveway, Tallman swung the excavator’s bucket at them, according to viral footage of the incident posted to social media.
Troopers dodged the bucket as they brought the 24-year-old down, the footage showed.
“They don’t have a scenario at the academy where we practice this one,” a Vermont State Police commander said.
Tallman was ordered out of the excavator and eventually gave in.
