NFL trade rumors have died down now that the 2022 season is upon us.
Big-name quarterbacks such as Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz found themselves on the move this past offseason.
We also saw star wide receiver Davante Adams dealt from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders while Tyreek Hill is now calling South Beach home.

Robert Quinn could be headed out of the Windy City
We saw the Chicago Bears move Khalil Mack to the Los Angeles Chargers in a blockbuster trade during the spring. With the team in full-scale rebuild mode, dealing Quinn at the height of his value seems to make a ton of sense.
It was during the offseason that CBS Sports’ NFL insider Jason La Canfora noted that Quinn wants out. He was initially a holdout from off-season programs before reporting. Quinn, 32, recoorded 22 QB hits and 18.5 sacks a season ago. He’s slated to count a combined $52-plus million against the cap over the next three seasons.

Dallas Cowboys could still be in the market for offensive tackle help
Dallas just recently signed nine-time Pro Bowler Jason Peters to its practice squad following the torn hamstring left tackle Tyron Smith suffered during training camp. But right now, rookie first-round pick Tyler Smith is expected to start out of the gate. That’s not a great scenario for Dak Prescott and Co.
The likes of Isaiah Wynn (New England Patriots) and Walker Little (Jacksonville Jaguars) could be options as NFL trade rumors head up in this regard. We wouldn’t be surprised if Dallas went in that direction with Tyron Smith out until at least December.
Denzel Mims remains with the New York Jets for now
Mims’ trade request late in the preseason was followed by a tremendous performance in the exhibition finale. It led to further speculation that he could be moved. But heading into Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, he still remains a member of the Jets.
A second-round pick of New York back in 2020, Mims has caught all of 31 passes for 490 yards while hauling in 46% of his targets. Those are some terrible numbers. Whether a team takes a chance on the Baylor product moving forward remains to be seen.

Baltimore Ravens safety Chuck Clark could potentially be had
Baltimore stole former Notre Dame star Kyle Hamilton with the 14th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He has immediate starter written all over him. The team also added veteran Marcus Williams to the mix. That could lead the underrated Clark out in the cold. The former sixth-round pick from Virginia Tech had previously requested a trade. But now he’s prepared to do his thing with two more years left on his deal with the Ravens.
If Clark is put on the block ahead of the deadline, a number of teams would be interested in the 27-year-old. He’s started 40 games over the past three seasons, recording four interceptions in the process. Last season saw Clark yield a mere 56% completion mark when targeted.
Isaiah Wynn could still be on the move
NFL trade rumors pointed in in the direction of New England potentially trading Wynn ahead of Week 1. Now that this is unlikely to be the case, it’s going to be interesting to see what comes to fruition on this end. Trent Brown has replaced the former first-round pick as Mac Jones‘ blindside protector. Wynn is also entering a contract year.
We know very well that the Patriots like to collect draft picks for players who do not fit into their long-term future. Pro Football Focus had Wynn as the 11th-best offensive tackle back in 2020. He can play both tackle and guard spots. That type of versatility will lead to a nice amount of interest in his services.

Darius Slayton as the odd-man out for the New York Giants
Speculation has heated up in a big way surrounding Slayton’s future with the Giants. He has no built-in relationship with new head coach Brian Daboll and has seen himself fall down the depth chart heading into Week 1.
With a mere $1.02 million cap hit, Slayton would draw interest from receiver-needy teams. Slayton, 25, recorded a combined 98 receptions for 1,491 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2019-20 before struggling this past season.
Jimmy Garoppolo could still be moved
NFL trade rumors surrounded Jimmy Garoppolo big time during the offseason. That’s until he surprisingly returned to San Francisco on a restructured contract to back up young quarterback Trey Lance.
In an interesting turn, said restructure could actually expedite Garoppolo’s departure from Northern California. He would count a mere $6.5 million against the cap for an acquiring team. Should a starter go down or someone struggle for his current team, San Francisco will likely be the first call. In turn, Garoppolo can pick and choose where he lands due to a no-trade clause embedded in his restructure.
