While the Chicago Bears and QB Justin Fields were a hot mess at times in the first six weeks of the season, they and their young signal caller began to turn things around and become a formidable offense. And an offense that is one of the best rushing units in the NFL. However, an injury to Fields derailed the improved play and they have taken a step back in recent weeks.

In Week 13 they still struggled with Fields back in uniform. The QB threw two costly interceptions and their opponents, the Packers, were far more efficient on offense. Furthermore, their elite rushing attack was held in check by the Green Bay defense. That is why they fall a spot in this week’s NFL offense rankings.

After a couple of weeks away, the legendary Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense is back in our NFL offense rankings. The unit has been inconsistent all season, and the team’s run game has been a non-factor for almost all of 2022. Nevertheless. Brady continues to be a high-level talent at his position, even at 45 years old.

Brady showed it again in Week 13 when he threw for 281 yards against the Saints in a victory that finally got the team back to .500 for the first time in a long time.

Kyler Murray and the Cardinals’ offense have been up and down throughout this season. At times he and the squad have shown the serious potential they have, and in others, they have been controlled with ease. Deandre Hopkins’ return has been a major addition as he’s added a desperately needed threat in the passing game.

In Week 12, Murray did not have a memorable game, however, for one of the few times this season, they were saved by their running game against the Chargers. As James Conner ran for a season-high 120 yards on 25 carriers. They finally got a bye in Week 13 and will welcome Mac Jones and the inconsistent Patriots defense on Sunday.

17. Packers (LW: 17)

This has been a massively disappointing season for the Green Bay Packers, and especially their offense. They gave QB Aaron Rodgers an absurd contract in the offseason that pays him around $50 million annually, yet the O has been middle of the road for much of the year.

This past week, despite not even throwing for over 200 yards Rodgers and the offense was still efficient nonetheless. As their defense got them the ball in good field position after turnovers and the Packers O made the Bears pay, to the tune of 28 points in Week 13.

2022 NFL offensive stats – Scoring

Let’s take a look at the five NFL offenses that know how to run up the score and are averaging the most points each game heading into Week 13.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs – 29.2
  2. Philadelphia Eagles – 28.2
  3. Buffalo Bills – 27.8
  4. Dallas Cowboys – 27.8
  5. Seattle Seahawks – 26.5

16. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 15)

The Atlanta Falcons offense was one of the biggest surprises for much of 2022. Cordarrelle Patterson was stellar at running back and Drake London grew into the WR1 they were hoping for when they made him the first receiver selected in this year’s draft. Marcus Mariota was far from spectacular as the team’s starter but he did something right as they have consistently logged 20 or more points often over the first 10 weeks.

However, in recent weeks their talented rushing attack has been slowed down, and it happened again in Week 13 in their latest loss to the Steelers. If things continue on this path, they will fall further in our NFL offense rankings and rookie Desmond Ridder could get some games as the starter before the season ends.

15. Cleveland Browns (LW: 14)

Jacoby Brissett was put into a very difficult position in having to take over the signal-caller reigns for the Cleveland Browns during Deshaun Watson’s suspension. However, he did a solid job in relief and helped to keep the team hovering near a playoff spot entering Week 13.

In his first game back in two years, Watson was all kinds of rusty and threw one interception to no touchdowns. Luckily for him, his former team the Texans are a mess and the Cleveland offense was lifted to a victory by the playmaking of their defense for once.

  • Next opponent: Bengals

14. Baltimore Ravens (LW: 12)

Lamar Jackson has pretty much been a one-man wrecking crew for the Baltimore Ravens for much of the season. Be it through the air or on the ground, Jackson has increased his value heading into free agency and a likely franchise tag next season. Outside of tight end Mark Andrews, the star QB has gotten little help from fellow members of the offense.

However, the star QB suffered a knee injury early in their Week 13 game, and backups Tyler Huntley and James Proche II were not very good in relief. Fortunately, the Ravens faced a worse offense in the Broncos. With Jackson expected to miss at least a game or two, the Baltimore O will struggle mightily to score in upcoming games.

  • Next opponent: Steelers

13. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 196)

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at San Francisco 49ers
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

After struggling in the early going of the season, the San Franciso 49ers offense got into a solid rhythm midway through the season. That was bolstered by the NFL trade deadline acquisition of star running back Christian McCaffrey. And while Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t a Pro Bowler he has been highly effective in leading the team.

Unfortunately, the 49ers O took a massive hit in Week 13 when Garoppolo suffered a broken foot and is now done for the season. Nevertheless, rookie backup Brock Purdy was solid in relief and McCaffrey had a very big game against the Dolphins on the ground and threw the air (146 total yards).

  • Next opponent: Buccaneers

12. Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 13)

NFL: Las Vegas Raiders at Jacksonville Jaguars
Jeremy Reper-USA TODAY Sports

With new head coach Doug Pederson leading the team, Trevor Lawrence and the offense have been far more potent in 2022. They have a solid threat on the ground with Travis Etienne and a legit WR1 in Christian Kirk. However, they have also been very inconsistent at times.

That was the case in Week 13 when they were held to only 14 points against a Lions defense that has been one of the worst for much of 2022. Kirk was the only standout with 104 receiving yards, but Lawrence was held in check and under 200 throwing yards.

  • Next opponent: Titans

11. Detroit Lions (LW: 10)

NFL: Detroit Lions at New York Giants

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions’ offense was a pleasant surprise in the opening weeks of the NFL season. The veteran QB was impressive and received a bunch of help from running back D’Andre Swift and receiver Amon-Ra St-Brown –who had been absolute game-changers early. Unfortunately, that did not last and they had far more ups than downs in the second half of the schedule.

However, in Week 13 they exploded against the Jaguars as they scored 40 points and Goff racked up 340 yards threw the air. St-Brown also pulled in 114 yards and two TDs in what has been a big sophomore season in the NFL.

Justin Herbert continues to look like a budding superstar in the new season and his crew of receivers has delivered despite some early injuries. After taking a nasty hit late in their Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the starting QB had an off game in the follow-up but bounced back and powered his unit to be one of the best NFL offenses.

In Week 13 the Chargers were able to put up some strong numbers in the passing game against the Raiders (335 passing yards for Herbert). However, they were outplayed by the Las Vegas O, who earned getting by them in this week’s NFL offense rankings.

9. Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 11)

The Las Vegas Raiders have been a confusing team when it comes to their offense. They have all the necessary pieces on the field and in the coaching staff to be a dangerous and dynamic group. Yet they have been frustratingly inconsistent all season and have never fully reached their potential. However, that has been changing in recent weeks.

In Week 13 they got a well-rounded performance from their top stars — Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs, and Davante Adams — and all three were massive in their win over the Chargers. Jacobs continues to shine and rise to prominence as one of the best backs in the sport after posting a 144-yard game on Sunday.

Nfl Cardinals Vs Seahawks Seattle Seahawks At Arizona Cardinals

When the Seattle Seahawks traded team legend, Russell Wilson, in the offseason the assumption was that their offense would see a major drop in productivity with Geno Smith leading the way. He has stunned in leading a scary good Seahawks offense and, shockingly, has played at an MVP level this season. Plus, rookie Kenneth Walker III has quickly become one of the best running backs in the league this season.

In Week 13, Smith and his top receivers — DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett — all had outstanding games as they could not be slowed down by the Rams’ defense in a major divisional win.

7. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 6)

Jalen Hurts has been outstanding through the air and on the ground in year three. Plus, Miles Sanders has also offered up another strong threat in the rushing game, and AJ Brown has been exactly what the team hoped for when they traded for him in April.

In Week 13, Hurts had another statement game as he continues to build his case as an MVP candidate — 380 pass yards and three TDs — and his receivers rampaged all over the Titans.

6. Miami Dolphins (LW: 4)

After losing Tua Tagavailoa for several games early in the season, the Miami Dolphins have shown the sensational play they had in their first few games was no mirage. The Miami passing game is one of the deadliest in the NFL and is pushing them into a Super Bowl contender status.

This past Sunday they got their stiffest test yet in the dominant 49ers defense. Unfortunately for Miami fans, Tagavailoa and the team failed the test as they were held to just 15 points. While the QB and Tyreek Hill had great numbers, most will remember the two big interceptions the offense had.

With Dak Prescott back in the fold, after missing several weeks with a hand injury, the Dallas Cowboys offense has soared. Since his return against the Lions, the offense has helped to put up 24 points or more and topped 40 twice in recent games.

In Week 13 they racked up an absurd 54 points against the Colts, and while their strong defense deserves credit for their plethora of turnovers and dominance on Sunday, Prescott and his unit made Indy pay for their mistakes every single time and have become highly efficient.

4. Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 5)

It took some time for the Cincinnati Bengals offense to get going due to Joe Burrow missing a lot of time this summer. But once they got in a rhythm, they quickly rose back up our NFL offense rankings. Superstar wideout Ja’Marr Chase has missed some time, but Tee Higgins has elevated his game to an all-new level in his absence.

With Chase back on Sunday, the Bengals’ offense was outstanding once again as they scored another surprise win over the Chiefs and were able to outscore the best offense in the NFL. If this continues, Burrow and the boys could be closing in on the top spot in our NFL rankings.

3. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 3)

Justin Jefferson has continued his ascension to elite status in 2022, as he has been a monster for the Minnesota Vikings this season. Kirk Cousins has done a strong job of giving him opportunities and Dalvin Cook has also been an impact player to lead the ground attack. It has made the Vikings’ offense a well-oiled machine all season and led to their impressive season thus far.

This past week they faced a major test in an elite defense from the New York Jets. While they were controlled much more than in past games, they were still solid and made the best out of the opportunities their defense gave them in another win.

2. Buffalo Bills (LW: 2)

Josh Allen has been playing like an MVP in 2022, and Stefon Diggs is one of the best pass-catching targets on Earth. While the run game has not been the equal of the passing attack, it has not stopped the Bills from having one of the best offenses in the NFL for much of the season.

Week 13 versus the Patriots wasn’t a vintage night, but the Buffalo offensive unit made the most of the strong game from their defense and dropped 24 on the Patriots. The solid performances from running backs James Cook and Devin Singletary were the standouts for the night as they combined for 115 yards and a TD on 27 rushes.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense have continued to chug along in 2022. Despite trading off superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill in the offseason, and dealing with injuries in their receiving corps. they have been the best NFL offense this season.

Week after week they make it look easy and Mahomes is taking all the fun out of throwing for 300 yards because he is doing it on a regular basis. That 300-yard game streak surprisingly ended against the Bengals on Sunday as they fell to Cincy again in another big game. While they suffered a rare loss and off game, they still remain the best offense in the NFL.
