20. Tennessee Titans
Outside of a poor showing against one of the best defenses in the league in the Buffalo Bills, Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, and the offense have dropped 20 points or more against some stiff competition in their other three games this season. In their wins over the Raiders and Colts in the last two weeks, the offense seems to finally be building some momentum and playing far more like they were expected to heading into the new season. Most importantly, Henry looked like himself again in dropping 114 yards on the Colts in Week 4, and that is a very good sign for the Titans.

19. Seattle Seahawks
When the Seattle Seahawks traded team legend, Russell Wilson, in the offseason the assumption was that their offense would see a major drop in productivity with Geno Smith leading the way. However, after four weeks Smith has thrown for more yards, touchdowns, and a better quarterback rating than the new Broncos signal-caller. This isn’t to say he is better than Wilson, but exceeded expectations, and Seattle has the same 2-2 record as Denver.
- Next opponent: Saints
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 6th
- Opponent yards against average: 328.3
18. Cleveland Browns
Jacoby Brissett was put into a very difficult position in having to take over the signal-caller reigns for the Cleveland Browns during Deshaun Watson’s suspension. However, the seven-year veteran has performed admirably and after four weeks the Browns are among the top five offenses in the league when it comes to putting up yards. Part of that is on running back Nick Chubb who has been outstanding to start the season and has been a reliable anchor every week.
- Next opponent: Chargers
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: Outside the top 20
- Opponent yards against average: 349.5
17. New Orleans Saints
While the New Orleans Saints head into Week 5 with a 1-3 record and their defense has not been as dominant as expected, the offense has been pretty good and is among the 10 best when it comes to racking up yards per game. The team’s QB situation is a bit of a mess with Jameis Winston’s health in question, however, talented weapons like Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas still remain.
In Week 5 they will face one of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks. Expect backup Andy Dalton to maintain the productive standard set in 2022 on the offensive side of the ball.
- Next opponent: Seahawks
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: Outside the top 20
- Opponent yards against average: 428.0
16. Jacksonville Jaguars
With new head coach Doug Pederson leading the team, Trevor Lawrence and the offense have been far more competent in 2022. Not to mention, off-season addition Christian Kirk has delivered solid numbers thus far. and was a beast in their Week 2 dominance of the Colts. In Week 4 they faced an elite defense in the Philadelphia Eagles. Unsurprisingly, the young Jags struggled on the road in a game they were actually leading big in early.
- Next opponent: Texans
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: Outside the top 20
- Opponent yards against average: 412.3
15. Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons don’t have a franchise quarterback and a slew of ultra-talented weapons on offense but the group continues to put up points each week. Over the start of the season, the Falcons’ offense has put up 26, 27, and 27 points, respectively, in their first three games. Including their Week 3 win over the Seahawks on the road. They did it again in a Week 4 win over the Browns and another 20-plus point performance. Marcus Mariota may not be the starter at the end of the season, but he and the offense have been pretty good in 2022.
In Week 5, Mariota and his crew will be tested by a Buccaneers defense that has been one of the best scoring groups in the league.
- Next opponent: Buccaneers
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 5th
- Opponent yards against average: 321
14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense has been hampered by all sorts of injuries to their veteran-deep receiving corps., and suspensions. Over the first three weeks of the season, they did not at all look like what was expected of them in 2022. However, with Mike Evans back in the lineup after a one-game ban, the offense seemed like a group that could help Tampa Bay contend for a Super Bowl birth this season. However, while Tom Brady threw for a season-best 333 yards he had the back luck of being outplayed by Patrick Mahomes and a Chiefs offense that made easy work of the Bucs D in Week 4.
- Next opponent: Falcons
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: Outside the top 20
- Opponent yards against average: 386.3
13. Green Bay Packers
The slow start for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers offense was to be expected. There were communication issues between him and his young receivers during the summer, and not having a superstar talent like Davante Adams around anymore was always going to have an effect. In Week 4 the group looked more like the balanced squad they have the potential to be. Both Jones and Allen Lazard put up 100-plus yard games in their win at home versus the Patriots.
Sunday will see a solid challenge against an underrated Giants defense and the ramifications of an overseas game in the early afternoon.

12. Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray was spectacular at times in the team’s Week 2 comeback win against the Las Vegas Raiders. While they stumbled in a major way in their season debut versus the Kansas City Chiefs, the Arizona Cardinals showcased their potential against the Silver-and-Black. Week 3 was a mixed bag as Murry threw for over 300 yards and Marquise Brown had a massive game with 140 yards receiving, however, they only put up nine points in their loss to the Rams. They bounced back in Week 4 by scoring 26 in a win over the Panthers, with 16 of that coming in the fourth quarter.
However, things will get very difficult on Sunday when Murray and the crew battle the elite force that is the Philadelphia defense.
- Next opponent: Eagles
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 2nd
- Opponent yards against average: 277.3 (third best in the NFL)
11. Minnesota Vikings
Justin Jefferson has continued his ascension to elite status in 2022, as he has been a monster to kick off the Minnesota Vikings campaign. However, the same can’t be said for Kirk Cousins and running back Dalvin Cook. After pushing around the Packers to open the season, the offense was big brothered a bit by the Philadelphia Eagles. They have looked strong over the last two weeks, however, scoring 28 in back-to-back games. Jefferson starred in Week 4 as he pulled in 147 yards in London versus the Saints.
On Sunday they will face division rivals in the Chicago Bears and a defense that is give up over 351 yards per game.
- Next opponent: Bears
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: Outside the top 20
- Opponent yards against average: 351.8
10. Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders started the season 0-3, mostly because the defense has not delivered as consistently as the offense. Despite the poor start, the O has been strong at times, with superstar acquisition Davante Adams and veteran Darren Waller leading the way. Josh Jacobs has also put up solid numbers, but his usage has been far lower than expected. That changed in Week 4 as he ran 28 times and ran all over the Broncos to rack up 144 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. A balanced Raiders offense is a scary thing.
The Raiders will get a stiff test in the Kansas City Chiefs defense, which is currently ranked at nine in our current rankings.
- Next opponent: Chiefs
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 9th
- Opponent yards against average: 329.5
9. Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow sitting out the entire preseason to recover from an appendectomy had a serious effect on his production to start the season. After being ranked at the top of our list to start the year, his four interceptions and being sacked 13 led to a free fall for the Cincinnati Bengals offense in the rankings. However, they have started to build traction back to prominence in the last two weeks of the season.
They beat up on the Jets in Week 3 and followed that up with a thrashing of the then-unbeaten Dolphins in Week 4. With Burrow throwing for just under 300 yards and only being sacked once. Plus, Tee Higgins delivered, with the defensive focus on JaMarr Chase, and racked up 124 yards through the air. On Sunday they will get more opportunities to put up points against a Ravens defense that has been one of the worst in the league this season.

- Opponent yards against average: 425.0
8. Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert continues to look like a budding superstar in the new season and his crew of receivers has delivered despite some injuries. However, after taking a nasty hit late in their Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the young star was not quite himself in a Week 3 shellacking to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They bounced back in a major way in Week 4 and spanked the Texans to the tune of 34 points. Herbert dropped 340 yards and two touchdowns through the air against Houston and Mike Williams chipped in with seven catches for 120 yards.
- Next opponent: Browns
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 14
- Opponent yards against average: 326.0
7. Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ offense have been a mixed bag so far in 2022. Splitting their first four games and struggling against two of the best defenses in the league. In their games against the Bills and 49ers, the offense was only able to muster a combined 19 points. They will get another major test in Week 5 against a Cowboys defense that has terrorized opposing QBs, led by Micah Parsons.
- Next opponent: Cowboys
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 4th
- Opponent yards against average: 308.5
6. Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagavailoa has been pretty darn good to start the 2022 Miami Dolphins campaign. The Alabama alum was rock solid in their win in Week 1, a wrecking machine in their Week 2 comeback victory, and looked like a game-managing star in Week 3 versus the Bills. versus the Ravens. However, the offense could be in serious trouble following a scary injury to the young stud signal-caller during their Week 4 loss to the Bengals.
Teddy Bridgewater is a better backup than most teams have, but there is no doubt the injury to Tagovailoa could lead to a big drop in the NFL offense rankings if he remains sidelined for an extended amount of time. In Week 5, the ‘Fins will face a solid Jets defense who has one of the best cornerback combos in the NFL this season.
- Next opponent: Jets
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: Outside the top 20
- Opponent yards against average: 326.5
5. Detroit Lions
Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions’ offense has been a pleasant surprise in the opening weeks of the NFL season. The veteran QB has been rock solid, but running back D’Andre Swift and receiver Amon-Ra St-Brown have been absolute game-changers early in 2022. However, they were without both of those weapons in Week 4 and somehow still dropped 45 points against the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately, their putrid defense gave up 48. Nonetheless, the Lions rise in the NFL offense rankings off Goff’s 378-yard, four-TD performance.
In Week 5 they will face the ultimate schemer in Bill Belichick and his Patriots. It should be a good test of how legit Goff and the offense’s performance in 2022 has been.
- Next opponent: Patriots
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 20th
- Opponent yards against average: 346.8
4. Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson is in a contract year and as you would expect from any athlete aiming for a big contract, he has been fantastic. Through the air and, of course, on the ground. He showed that once again in Week 3 when he burned Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots in every aspect of the offensive game. However, against one of the best defenses in the league, the Buffalo Bills, the offense struggled and Jackson was kept in check. Throwing for less than 200 yards but leading the team in rushing in Week 4.
The Ravens’ offense will need to put up points once again this week as their struggling defenses get challenged by Joe Burrow and a Cincinnati Bengals offense that is starting to heat up.
- Next opponent: Bengals
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 11th
- Opponent yards against average: 327.5
3. Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts has been outstanding through the air and on the ground in year three. Not to mention that Miles Sanders has offered up another strong threat in the rushing game, and AJ Brown has delivered after the team traded for him on draft night. With the season-altering injury to Dak Prescott, the Philadelphia Eagles have to be a favorite to win the NFC East because of their deadly offensive offering.
In Week 4, were on the ropes early to Lawrence and the Jaguars but helped to put up 20 points in the second quarter and never looked back as Sanders starred with 134 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.
- Next opponent: Cardinals
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: Outside the top 20
- Opponent yards against average: 342.8
2. Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense have quieted all the doubters. They lost an elite pass-catching talent in Tyreek Hill and continue to chug along as a dominant offense because of the brilliance of Mahomes. Barring some major injuries, Andy Reid and the boys should continue to be one of the premier scoring squads in the game throughout the 2022 NFL season.
In Week 4 against a Buccaneers defense that was the best scoring unit in the league, Mahomes and the crew ran roughshod and dropped 41 points in an impressive easy work win. They could be the No. 1 NFL offense in our rankings soon and the slumping Raiders offense may offering up the chance to do so in Week 5.
- Next opponent: Raiders
- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: Outside the top 20
- Opponent yards against average: 357.0
1. Buffalo Bills
Sure, getting some more out of the running attack would be great, but there really isn’t much to complain about since the Buffalo Bills have the No.1 offense in the NFL. Josh Allen is on track to be a serious MVP candidate and Stefon Diggs has been an absolute animal in the passing game. While former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has helped to make the New York Giants an early season surprise, the Bills’ offense has not missed a beat in 2022.
They proved it again in Week 4 when they were down 20-10 at halftime and roared back to win 23-20 late against another playoff contender in Jackson and the Ravens. In Week 5 they face a reeling Steelers team, with a rookie QB who might toss up some interceptions and give one of the best offenses in the NFL a short field often.

- Opponent Sportnaut NFL defense rankings: 18th
- Opponent yards against average: 383.0
