Outside of a poor showing against one of the best defenses in the league in the Buffalo Bills, Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, and the offense have dropped 20 points or more against some stiff competition in their other three games this season. In their wins over the Raiders and Colts in the last two weeks, the offense seems to finally be building some momentum and playing far more like they were expected to heading into the new season. Most importantly, Henry has looked like himself again dropping 100-yards or more over the last two games.

19. New Orleans Saints

While the New Orleans Saints headed into Week 5 with a 1-3 record and their defense has not been as dominant as expected, the offense has been pretty good and is among the 10 best when it comes to racking up yards per game. The team’s QB situation is a bit of a mess with Jameis Winston’s health in question, however, talented weapons like Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas still remain.

They persevered on Sunday and dropped 39 in a shootout win against the Seahawks. The rushing attack showed out in a serious way with both Taysom Hill and Mark Ingram racking up over 100 yards each on the ground.

With new head coach Doug Pederson leading the team, Trevor Lawrence and the offense have been far more dangerous in 2022. Scoring 20 points or more over the first four weeks of the season, including a 38-point showing in Week 3. Yet, despite facing a struggling Texans defense in Week 5, the Jags’ offense was only able to muster six points on Sunday. Dropping them back a couple of spots in the NFL offense rankings.

Jacoby Brissett was put into a very difficult position in having to take over the signal-caller reigns for the Cleveland Browns during Deshaun Watson’s suspension. However, the seven-year veteran has performed admirably and after four weeks the Browns were among the top five offenses in the league when it comes to putting up yards. Part of that is on running back Nick Chubb who has been outstanding to start the season and has been a reliable anchor every week.

Despite another defeat in Week 5, Chubb and the offense still scored another 28 points and were let down by their defense who gave up 30 to the Chargers.

16. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons don’t have a franchise quarterback and a slew of ultra-talented weapons on offense but the group continues to put up points each week. Over the start of the season, the Falcons’ offense has put up 26, 27, and 27 points, respectively, in their first three games. They did it again in a Week 4 win over the Browns and another 20-plus point performance.

Week 5 was the first week where they did put up more than 20 as a tough Buccaneers defense kept them in check. Marcus Mariota may not be the starter at the end of the season, but he and the offense have still over-performed so far this season.

15. Seattle Seahawks

When the Seattle Seahawks traded team legend, Russell Wilson, in the offseason the assumption was that their offense would see a major drop in productivity with Geno Smith leading the way. However, after four weeks Smith has thrown for more yards, touchdowns, and a better quarterback rating than the new Broncos signal-caller. This isn’t to say he is better than Wilson, but exceeded expectations, and Seattle has the same 2-2 record as Denver.

The group had another stellar showing in a loss to the Saints in Week 5. As Smith threw for three touchdowns in a game where his defense once again let him down.

The slow start for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers offense was to be expected. There were communication issues between him and his young receivers during the summer, and not having a superstar talent like Davante Adams around anymore was always going to have an effect. However, in recent weeks the offense has started to build some traction and Rodgers has looked like a reigning MVP.

While they had impressive moments against an underrated Giants defense on Sunday in London, New York was able to frustrate the QB late in a surprise loss overseas.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense has been hampered by injuries throughout the 2022 NFL season. It has led to a slow start for Tom Brady’s squad, but that seems to finally be changing. There is no better example of that than Brady having a vintage 351-yard showing in a much-needed win over the Falcons in Week 5. However, the team’s rushing attack still remains a weak spot.

Kyler Murray and the Cardinals’ offense have been up and down throughout this season. At times he and the squad have shown the serious potential they have, and in others, they have been held down with ease. In Week 5, they faced one of the best defenses in the NFL in the Philadelphia Eagles and only put up 17 points. With DeAndre Hopkins still suspended, warts on the Arizona offense are starting to show.

Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ offense have been a mixed bag so far in 2022. Splitting their first four games and struggling against two of the best defenses in the league. In their games against the Bills and 49ers, the offense was only able to muster a combined 19 points. This week they faced another strong defense in the Cowboys and were held to just 10 points despite big games from Stafford and Cooper Kupp.

When it comes to strong resistance, LA has not faired well in 2022.

Joe Burrow sitting out the entire preseason to recover from an appendectomy had a serious effect on his production to start the season. And poor offensive line play surely didn’t help either. However, Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase started to get in their passing groove in Weeks 4 and 5 and the Bengals looked like that team that was able to score their way to a Super Bowl appearance last year.

But in Week 5, a slumping Ravens defense was able to bottle up their vaunted pass game and keep Burrow and the crew in chec. Handing them their third loss of the season.

The Las Vegas Raiders have started the season 1-4, but mostly because the defense has not delivered as consistently as the offense. Over the first few weeks of the season, The combination of Derek Carr and Davante Adams has shown its game-breaker potential, with their Week 5 loss to the Chiefs serving as a perfect example as Adams averaged over 40 yards on his three catches including two touchdowns.

However, the player that has taken their offense to another level is Josh Jacobs as he’s had back-to-back career games in Weeks 4 and 5. Rushing for 144 and 154 yards respectively.

Tua Tagavailoa has been pretty darn good to start the 2022 Miami Dolphins campaign and helped them quickly rise up the rankings with the assistance of talented speedsters Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. However, a scary injury in Week 3 has completely derailed their hot star.

With Teddy Bridgewater running the show they only managed 15 points in Week 4. On Sunday he suffered a concussion and left things to backup Skylar Thompson. He didn’t fair any better as the Jets allowed just 17 to the ‘Fins offense in a brutal 40-17 loss. They’ll likely continue their rankings free fall until Tagovailoa returns.

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions’ offense have been a pleasant surprise in the opening weeks of the NFL season. The veteran QB has been impressive and received a bunch of help from running back D’Andre Swift and receiver Amon-Ra St-Brown –who have been absolute game-changers early in 2022. However, they were without both of those weapons in Weeks 4 and 5. Last week they still put up 45 points. Unfortunately, on Sunday Bill Belichick and the Patriots solved the puzzle and shockingly held the Lions scoreless.

Lamar Jackson is in a contract year and as you would expect from any athlete aiming for a big contract, he has been fantastic. Through the air and, of course, on the ground. He showed that once again in Week 3 when he burned Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots in every aspect of the offensive game. However, against one of the best defenses in the league, the Buffalo Bills, the offense struggled and Jackson was kept in check. Throwing for less than 200 yards but leading the team in rushing in Week 4.

Those struggles continued on Sunday for Jackson and the crew. Fortunately for them, they were able to make a late-game drive and sneak away with a last-second win over the Bengals and take first place in the AFC North.

Justin Jefferson has continued his ascension to elite status in 2022, as he has been a monster to kick off the Minnesota Vikings campaign. Kirk Cousins has done a strong job of giving him opportunities and the Vikings’ offense has been a well-oiled machine all season. Jefferson showed out again in Week 5 with a 154-yard romp over the Bears but got help from Dalvin Cook and his two rushing TDs on the ground.

Minnesota has risen up the NFL offense rankings quickly in the last few weeks.

Justin Herbert continues to look like a budding superstar in the new season and his crew of receivers has delivered despite some injuries. After taking a nasty hit late in their Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the young star had an off game in the follow-up but has bounced back since then and powered his unit to be one of the best NFL offenses.

On Sunday, running back Austin Ekeler stole the show with an electric 134-yard performance on the ground to lead the team over the Browns.

Jalen Hurts has been outstanding through the air and on the ground in year three. Not to mention that Miles Sanders has offered up another strong threat in the rushing game, and the pass catchers have elevated their game in 2022. With the season-altering injury to Dak Prescott, the Philadelphia Eagles have to be a favorite to win the NFC East because of their deadly offensive offering.

In Week 5 Hurts and Kyler Murray went toe-to-toe and the Philly signal-caller outplayed his contemporary. Putting up a strong game-manager performance in another victory.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense have quieted all the doubters. They lost an elite pass-catching talent in Tyreek Hill and continue to chug along as a dominant offense because of the brilliance of Mahomes. Barring some major injuries, Andy Reid and the boys should continue to be one of the premier scoring squads in the game throughout the 2022 NFL season.

Despite being down by 17 at one point in Week 5, they showed their patented explosiveness and dropped 30 on the Raiders to eke out a victory in an entertaining shootout in KC.

Sure, getting some more out of the running attack would be great, but there really isn’t much to complain about since the Buffalo Bills have the No.1 offense in the NFL. Josh Allen is on track to be a serious MVP candidate and Stefon Diggs has been an absolute animal in the passing game. While former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has helped to make the New York Giants an early season surprise, the Bills’ offense has not missed a beat in 2022.

In Week 5 the superstar QB carved up Mike Tomlin’s Steelers to the tune of 424 yards threw the air and four touchdowns. Allen has a career day and keeps the Bills in the top spot.
