The NFL offense rankings are the glamour list of the league. While laying the smackdown on defense is great, scoring with the rock is the name of the game. And defense may win championships, but the offense is what fills the stadiums.
Here you will find our latest top 20 of the premier offensive units in the NFL. However, because of the physical violence and competition level in the league, the rankings will surely churn up new orders throughout the season. Now, feast your eyes on the latest NFL offensive rankings following Week 14 of the 2022 NFL season.

20. Cleveland Browns (LW: 18)
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is clearly rusty as this offense has taken an alarming step back since his return. After two starts, Cleveland’s offense is responsible for just one offensive touchdown in eight quarters and that’s just part of the problem.
In Week 15, the struggles continued against the Ravens. Fortunately for Cleveland, the 13 points they managed were still better than the three the short-handed Baltimore offense could muster. Shockingly, the offense has been far worse with Watson and could be out of our NFL offense rankings soon.
- Next opponent: Saints
19. New England Patriots (LW: UR)
After some serious struggles in the preseason, in the first few weeks of the regulars season, and a mini QB controversy, the New England Patriots offense has been a solid squad in 2022. Rhamondre Stevenson has been under the radar good out of the backfield, and Mac Jones has shown 2021 was not a fluke. He is a legit starting signal-caller in the NFL.
In Week 15, the passing game was completely shut down by the Raiders, however, Stevenson was a beast and closed in on 200 yards for the game. However, an absolutely bone-headed decision by receiver Jakobi Meyers in an attempt to extend a last-second play gave away the ball and the Pats their worst loss of the season.
- Next opponent: Bengals
18. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 19)
This season has been a very difficult one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Injuries and off-the-field drama have hampered them all year. Yet, in spite of it all, the offensive side of the ball has still been solid and ranks among the top five in the NFL in passing. It is the only reason why they are in the driver’s seat to win a division title in an awful NFL South.
That was on display in a fantastic first half versus the far better Bengals. However, that strong offensive play ceased in the final periods and their defense was carved up by a truly elite offense en route to another disappointing L for Tampa Bay.
- Next opponent: Cardinals
17. Chicago Bears (LW: 17)
While the Chicago Bears and QB Justin Fields were a hot mess at times in the first six weeks of the season, they and their young signal caller began to turn things around and become a formidable offense. And an offense that is one of the best rushing units in the NFL. However, an injury to Fields derailed the improved play and they have taken a step back in recent weeks.
In Week 15, the Bears had a difficult task in trying to put up points against a stout Eagles defense. They were not able to do much as Fields was held under 100 passing yards until late in the game, and their rough and tough rushing attack was mostly bottled up — outside of a 95-yard effort from the QB.
- Next opponent: Bills
16. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 16)
For the first half of the season, the Atlanta Falcons’ offense was one of the biggest surprises in the league. Veteran QB Marcus Mariota was reliable, and their rushing attack was one of the tops in the NFL. However, defenses eventually started to figure them out and forced Atlanta to beat them with their passing. It has since led to mixed results and Mariota being benched for rookie Desmond Ridder.
The change in QB did not help the passing attack take off in Week 15 as Ridder was held to under 100 passing yards. Fellow rookie Tyler Allgeier did have a career game with 139 yards on the ground in the loss.
- Next opponent: Ravens
2022 NFL offensive stats – Scoring
Let’s take a look at the five NFL offenses that know how to run up the score and are averaging the most points per game heading into Week 16.
- Kansas City Chiefs – 29.6
- Philadelphia Eagles – 29.4
- Dallas Cowboys – 28.1
- Buffalo Bills – 27.5
- Cincinnati Bengals – 26.4
15. Baltimore Ravens (LW: 14)
Lamar Jackson has pretty much been a one-man wrecking crew for the Baltimore Ravens for much of the season. Be it through the air or on the ground, Jackson has increased his value heading into free agency and a likely franchise tag next season. Outside of tight end Mark Andrews, the star QB has gotten little help from fellow members of the offense.
However, the star QB suffered a knee injury early in their Week 13 game, and backup Tyler Huntley has not been very good in relief. In Week 15, the struggles continued as the offense was ineffective without their superstar signal caller. Even a 125-yard showing from D.K. Dobbins couldn’t help the squad muster more than three points against the Browns.
- Next opponent: Falcons
14. Green Bay Packers (LW: 15)
This has been a massively disappointing season for the Green Bay Packers, and especially their offense. They gave QB Aaron Rodgers an absurd contract in the offseason that pays him around $50 million annually, yet the O has been middle of the road at best for much of the year.
While the Packers were better in Week 15 than they were the previous Sunday, the offense was still unspectacular. Nevertheless, their rushing attack stepped up with Aaron Jones rushing for 90 yards on 17 carries and backup A.J. Dillon adding a pair of big TDs. It was a grind against the Rams for much of the game until they exploded for 14 in the third quarter and ran away with the win.
- Next opponent: Dolphins
13. Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 13)
If the Las Vegas Raiders are able to find their way into the playoffs, it will be mostly due to their offense. In spite of some early season frustrations, the trio of Derek Carr, Davante Adams, and Josh Jacobs can be a legit and deadly triple threat.
While they were not in vintage form, they still did enough against the Patriots in Week 15 to stay in the game. Shockingly, it was a boneheaded play from the Pats, and the Raiders’ defense being in the right place at the right time, that bailed the Las Vegas offense out on Sunday.
- Next opponent: Steelers
12. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 12)
Nfl Cardinals Vs Seahawks Seattle Seahawks At Arizona Cardinals
The Seattle Seahawks offense has been one of the feel-good stories of the 2022 NFL season. Many observers of the sport expected a major dropoff on that side of the ball with Russell Wilson gone, yet the team has been shockingly good at times due to Geno Smith’s outstanding play and rookie Kenneth Walker III having a breakout season.
However, in the team’s most important game of the season in Week 15, their talented offense was mostly held in check by an elite-level 49ers defense. While the Seahawks’ hopes to win the division are over, the O will now have to try and lead them into the playoffs over the next few weeks.
- Next opponent: Chiefs
11. Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 9)
Justin Herbert continues to look like a budding superstar in the new season and his crew of receivers has delivered despite some early injuries. After taking a nasty hit late in their Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the starting QB had an off game in the follow-up but bounced back and powered his unit to be one of the best NFL offenses.
In Week 15, the young gunslinger posted a 313-yard performance, however, two interceptions nearly put them in jeopardy of falling to the Titans at home. In the end, he was able to lead the team to a game-winning drive in a game they needed.
- Next opponent: Colts

- Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 268.4
- Buffalo Bills – 265.7
NFL offense rankings: 10 best 2022
10. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 8)
After struggling in the early going of the season, the San Franciso 49ers offense got into a solid rhythm midway through the season. That was bolstered by the NFL trade deadline acquisition of star running back Christian McCaffrey and a strong effort from Jimmy Garoppolo in relief of an injured Trey Lance.
Unfortunately, the 49ers O took a massive hit in Week 13 when Garoppolo suffered a foot injury. However, backup Brock Purdy has been outstanding in his place. Leading the team to three straight victories, including a Week 15 division-clinching win against the Seahawks.
Purdy was highly efficient again as McCaffrey starred in another game rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown.
- Next opponent: Commanders
9. Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 11)
With new head coach Doug Pederson leading the team, Trevor Lawrence and the offense have been far more potent in 2022. They have a solid threat on the ground with Travis Etienne and a legit WR1 in Christian Kirk. However, they have also been very inconsistent at times.
While the team has had peaks and valleys this season, they are at a high point as we head to the close of the season. It showed on Thursday night as they faced their toughest test yet in an elite Jets defense. Lawrence was effective, avoided turnovers, and got the ball to tight end, Evan Engram. He had his second 100-plus-yard receiving game in the last three weeks.
The team matches up with the Texans next week in a pivotal division game that offers up a very favorable matchup on the road.
- Next opponent: Texans
8. Miami Dolphins (LW: 10)
Outside of being without starting QB Tua Tagovailoa for a few weeks, the Miami Dolphins offense has been one of the most formidable squads in the NFL in 2022. Especially when it comes to the passing game where offseason acquisition Tyreek Hill has been everything the team hoped for.
After a couple of off weeks, the Dolphins looked more like themselves in Week 15 against the Bills. Yet, despite a 136-yard performance on the ground from running back Raheem Mostert, the Miami O was outperformed by a better Bills offense on Sunday.
Next opponent: Packers
7. Dallas Cowboys (LW: 5)
With Dak Prescott back in the fold, after missing several weeks with a hand injury, the Dallas Cowboys offense has soared. Since his return against the Lions, the offense has helped to put up 20 points with regularity and topped 40 twice in recent games.
In Week 15, they surprisingly struggled against a pretty bad Texans squad. Prescott threw two interceptions and the entire running game was held in check by Houston. Fortunately, the Cowboys’ offense cashed in on three turnovers from their defense and still put up 27 points. But their off day on Sunday is why they fall two spots in this week’s NFL offense rankings.
- Next opponent: Eagles
6. Detroit Lions (LW: 6)
Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions’ offense have been far better than expected in 2022. They have certainly had some low points, but their explosiveness is the only reason why they are still in contention for a playoff spot late into the season.
In Week 15, they had a tough test in an outstanding Jets defense. However, they endured despite being down late and were able to muster a fourth-quarter game-winning drive to keep postseason hopes alive in Motown. It wasn’t pretty but the offense helped secure their biggest win of the year.

Top 5 offenses in NFL 2022
5. Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 4)
It took some time for the Cincinnati Bengals offense to get going due to Joe Burrow missing a lot of time this summer. But once they got in a rhythm, they quickly rose back up our NFL offense rankings. Superstar wideout Ja’Marr Chase has missed some time, but Tee Higgins has elevated his game to an all-new level in his absence. With Chase back in the mix, Cincinnati’s offense continues to take off at the right time.
In Week 15 the dynamic bunch got off to a slow start against the Patriots but turned it on in the second half. Leaving with another big win and a four-TD showing from Burrow.
- Next opponent: PAtriots
4. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 3)
Jalen Hurts has been outstanding through the air and on the ground in year three. Plus, Miles Sanders has also offered up another strong threat in the rushing game, and AJ Brown has been exactly what the team hoped for when they traded for him in April.
In Week 15 they battled a Bears squad that has performed far better than they should be considering what they are putting out on the field. Nevertheless, the Philly offense showed why they are elite, as Fields continued building his MVP case (315 yards and two TDs) and Brown and DeVonta Smith were dynamite as they pulled in 307 yards combined.
- Next opponent: Cowboys
3. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 7)
Justin Jefferson has continued his ascension to elite status in 2022, as he has been a monster for the Minnesota Vikings this season. Kirk Cousins has also done an outstanding job of giving him opportunities and Dalvin Cook has again been an impact player to lead the ground attack. It is why the Vikings’ offense is a well-oiled machine and one of the very best NFL offenses.
In Week 15, they displayed how deadly they can be as they broke the NFL record by coming back from 33 points down to stun the Colts in one of the most impressive offensive showcases ever seen. Cousins threw for 460 yards and four TDs while Jefferson was outdone by K.J. Osbourne’s 157-yard career receiving night.
- Next opponent: Giants
2. Buffalo Bills (LW: 2)
Josh Allen has been playing like an MVP in 2022, and Stefon Diggs is one of the best pass-catching targets on Earth. While the run game has not been the equal of the passing attack, it has not stopped the Bills from having one of the best offenses in the NFL for much of the season.
In the biggest game of 2022, the Bills O and Allen showed out again as they impressed by outlasting the Dolphins in a shootout and securing a playoff spot.
- Next opponent: Bears
1. Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 1)
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense have continued to chug along in 2022. Despite trading off superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill in the offseason, and dealing with injuries in their receiving corps, they have been the best NFL offense this season.
Week after week they make it look easy and Mahomes is taking all the fun out of throwing for 300 yards because he is doing it on a regular basis. However, they were pushed in Week 15 by a terrible Texans team, but luckily the offense saved them from a horrid loss. As Mahomes posted 336 yards through the air and three receivers pulled in 70 or more yards.
